An efficient means of presenting an architectural subject is through a fully Rendered Architectural Elevation, whether it is an interior or exterior elevation. With disciplined skill, an Elevation Rendering can bring to life a project without requiring the production of perspectives which in turn requires more design input and 3D modeling. The introduction of shadows, carefully projected and in scale to corresponding depths can add dimension to a seemingly flat architectural drawing. The addition of colors, reflections in glass, textures and various materials assist to further embellish an Illustrated Architectural Elevation. Background buildings and other elements such as trees and landscaping and perhaps mountains can be used to frame the image.

A Floor Plan Rendering can be enhanced with cast shadows and gradation to look convincingly realistic and can include surroundings and landscaping for context.
